St. Bride by John Duncan, 1913
On Jan. 2nd, my cousin-brother and his family lost their home to a fire. The cause of the fire is still unknown. Thankfully he had fire resistant interior that helped minimize the damage, but they’ve lost a lot of their possessions to the fire. Their home also suffered from smoke damage. I’m grateful that they all made it out of the house safely but a few of them had to go to the ER for smoke inhalation and pain caused from being thrown/jumping out of their windows.
I’ve included screenshots of our family group chat and a picture of what he’s done so far for fixing their home.
Some of the things they’ve lost in the fire was majority of their powwow regalia. His family is well known in the powwow community here in Arizona and have performed for some politicians, entertainers, and even huge events in AZ. His entire family dances, including his little ones. I’ll included their pictures.
Anything helps and even sharing will help them out in anyway. As a family, we are coming together to help with the cost to fix their home.

One of many big questions from last night: to what extent was this a massive failure on the part of the police, and to what extent was it intentional complicity
I was at a handful of BLM protests in front of the White House last summer. This can not be emhpasized enough: if they treated the Trumpists the same way they treated BLM, they would have opened fire.

In case anyone needs a reminder that Canada is literally a fascist state, they are now banning some arrested land defenders from speaking out on social media after their release.
This isn’t an anomaly either - taxes go into things like lawyers for government programs designed to take Indigenous children away from their homes and the parents fighting these things are told to keep silent on social media about their experiences. I know Tamara Malcolm dealt a lot with this, very publicly. 90% of children in the system in Manitoba are Indigenous.
Canada was built on settler entitlement and genocide of Indigenous peoples in the interests of white capitalist exploitation.
I love love love those atmospheric moving illustrations so wanted to make my own with Burgundian vibes ✨
new baby.
Big Depression means new and very indulgent oc’s. this is Bea and she is a little creacher who has done quite a bit of heresy and blasphemy. she can speak to spirits, she likes bold colors and prints that are abstractly insect-like, and she really wants to be an entomologist.
she’s been disowned since she was 15 so she currently lives on the temple grounds with the Sisters Of Perpetual Compliance who, despite their name and the front they put up for the new ‘community leaders’, are only teaching her how to do Religion Crimes faster and easier without getting caught.
the 2nd and 3rd pics are actually the first ones i drew, just figuring out her design. the first pic is because i wanted to draw that fat beetle. also i forgot her tail in that one just ignore that bit.
i love the quiet de-gendering of animal crossing. you can change your gender at any time and it does pretty much nothing. it’s not even called gender, it’s just called style. the villager dialogue boxes arent color-coded blue and pink anymore. shopkeepers dont comment if you buy the “wrong” gender of clothing like they did before. your character’s pronouns are rarely used, maybe not used at all? it’s great
